Club Program, Sept. 17th: Education Matters
Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 9:57PM On September 17th, the Rotary Club of Lake Hickory heard a presentation from Tracy Hall, Director of Education Matters in Catawba Valley. Tracy has a 26 year history of working with businesses, schools, non-profits and government. Tracy previously worked for Hickory Public Schools as the Public Information Officer and has served as the Director of Development and Marketing for the Catawba Science Center.
Education Matters is an initiative of CVCC, which has a partnership with businesses, education, and government to raise the value of education and educational attainment in Catawba Valley. Tracy has created the EXTREME STEM Tour, which has allowed over 3250 8th grade students to go on business and industry tours to learn about careers in Science, Technology, Engineering , and Math. Education Matters impacts over 5850 students from the 8th – 12th grade.
