About Rotary

Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. Approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 31,000 Rotary clubs located in 166 countries.  The Rotary Club of Lake Hickory is committed to the motto "Service Above Self" and strives to enrich our community by giving our time, talents and charitable gifts in the name of Rotary.


New Member Information

Rotary is one of the few clubs where membership is by "invitation only".

 

We need to be selecting appropriate candidates for membership and invite them to our meetings with an eye toward membership.  We are looking for successful men and women who will share in our philanthropic missions and already conduct themselves in the "Four Way Test".

Although no club, organization or company is "all things to all people", Rotary fills the bill for 1,200,00 men and women world-wide.  In the greater Hickory area there are 6 active clubs that support many worthwhile local charities and youth development programs.

Dues Information

There is a one-time initiation fee of $100.00, which would be billed on a new member's first quarterly invoice.
Their quarterly dues would be as follows:
  • Membership Dues:  $50.00 per quarter
  • Club Social Dues:  $27.00 per quarter
  • Meals ($12.00 each):  $156.00 per quarter.  This covers their meals at all of the weekly meetings; guests that they bring to meetings would be charged $12.00.
  • Rotary Foundation (Sustaining Membership) Dues:  $25.00 per quarter.  This amount goes to the Rotary Foundation - supporting Rotary's efforts around the world - and builds their contribution automatically to where you would be eligible to receive Paul Harris Fellows recognition after a few years of membership. 
Total quarterly dues:  $258.00
